International Women's Day

Michelle Obama said “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”

The pupils at Ferndene spent the day looking at some amazing women in Mathematics including Florence Nightingale who invented the coxcomb variation of the pie chart to highlight how poor sanitation was the key cause of deaths in hospitals.

One of the pupils also learned about Ada Lovelace and enjoyed writing some English work on the facts she had learned about Ada’s achievements.
