Author Caroline Hardaker Visits Newcastle Bridges School

To celebrate World Book Day, today pupils at the Kenton site had a visit by Poet and Novelist Caroline Hardaker who hosted a workshop on literacy. After introducing herself, Caroline discussed with pupils about what jobs and career paths there are in literacy and writing. Caroline read a passage from her book to pupils and started on a writing exercise aiming for pupils to use their imagination to fill in the blanks to a beginning of a story. Pupils then began developing and creating a character for their story through different characteristics including their appearance and where they live.
