Pop Art Portraits and PSHE

Students have been working on a cross-curricular project in both Art and PSHE lessons.
Inspired by the work of Julian Opie, students have created a series of portraits. Each subject was chosen by the students to represent one of the 9 protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion, sex and sexual orientation.
Students then learned about the difference between discrimination and prejudice.
This work then culminated in a group piece, exploring the intersectionality of our icons and ourselves.
This work will be displayed in the hospital's foyer as a long term exhibition.
