Child Development
Return to SubjectsBeing a teenager is a very difficult time in a young person’s life, with so many physical and emotional changes occurring. Child Development at KS4 provides a safe environment to ask those ‘difficult questions’ and discover the science behind health, development and growth of our bodies, relationships and new life we create. It is a crucial subject for teenagers and young people, introducing, explores and answers all the difficult questions and uncertain queries they may have about puberty, relationships, pregnancy and parenthood. The subject provides a mature and realistic view of life as young adults, through detailed study of the biological, physical and mental / emotional transition from childhood, to teenager, to adult. It opens the minds of young people, giving knowledge of the true responsibilities of their own health and bodies, as well as the creation, development and care of new life.
