SEND, Equality and Diversity

Return to Key Information

Newcastle Bridges School is committed to promoting inclusion, equality and diversity whilst adopting a person-centred approach. At Newcastle Bridges School, all of students have SEND or SEMH needs and the majority have EHCPs.

We implement a bespoke approach to meet individual needs and make the adaptations required to ensure all individuals have equal opportunities. Progress is monitored following the assess, plan, do and review cycle to ensure positive outcomes are achieved. We work in partnership with parents, carers and various external agencies to ensure individual requirements are met.

The Prosper Learning Trust values of aspiration, integrity, kindness and resilience are at the core of our working practices.

Our SENDCo and Designated Teacher for Children in Care is Sophie Pellegrino. Sophie is supported by the wider SEN Team consisting of Andrew Bell (Assistant SENDCo), Catherine Wearing and Lauren Burrell (SEN HLTA) and the Pastoral Team.
