Year 10 and 11 pupils took part in Restart a Heart, delivered by the North East Ambulance service.
The session focused on teaching pupils how to recognise the signs of a cardiac arrest, call emergency services effectively, perform CPR, and understand how a defibrillator can be used in an emergency. Through hands-on activities and demonstrations, the pupils developed the confidence and skills needed to respond in critical situations.
The pupils engaged brilliantly throughout the session, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating excellent teamwork as they practised CPR techniques. Everyone is incredibly proud of the maturity and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved.
A huge thank you to the trainers for providing such an important and inspiring learning experience. We hope our pupils never need to use these skills, but they now have the knowledge and confidence to help someone in an emergency.
