Kenton pupils enjoyed an inspiring and immersive day out recently with a visit to the Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience at the Newcastle Arena.
The trip gave the pupils the opportunity to step inside the world of one of history's most celebrated artists, Vincent Van Gogh. Through stunning floor-to-ceiling projections, interactive displays and virtual reality experiences, the pupils were able to explore the artist's life, work, and creative legacy in a completely unique way.
From the vibrant colours of 'Sunflowers' to the swirling skies of 'The Starry Night', the exhibition brought Van Gogh's masterpieces to life, allowing the pupils to experience art on a scale unlike anything they had seen before. The interactive format encouraged pupils to engage with the artwork, while also learning about the challenges and achievements that shaped the artist's remarkable career.
The visit supported the pupil's studies in art, history and culture, helping them to develop a deeper appreciation of artistic expression and creativity. Throughout the day, the pupils demonstrated excellent behaviour and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and fully embracing the experience.
A huge thank you to all staff who organised and accompanied the visit, and to the pupils for representing the school so positively. It was certainly a day to remember, and one that left everyone feeling a little more starry-eyed about the world of art.
