Home School Teacher Visit

One of the pupils at the GNCH was delighted to see both his class teacher, as well as his hospital teacher, on the ward last week when they hosted a visit from Miss Grimes, a Year 1 teacher at Nettlesworth Primary School. Miss Grimes maintains excellent engagement and communication with hospital teachers, enabling them to work collaboratively to ensure that the pupil is able to follow Nettlesworth’s programme of study and that learning activities are focused on their curriculum.

This ensures that he doesn't miss out and minimises the impact of his treatment on his education. As a result of this ongoing communication and strong inter school partnership, the pupil is able to transition smoothly back to school on the days when he isn’t receiving treatment.
