Newcastle United Foundation brought a huge boost of excitement—and warmth—to the school community. The NUFC foundation generously donated a number of official team strips and winter coats for pupils.

This wonderful gesture ensures that pupils not only feel part of something special but also stay warm and comfortable during the colder months.

Following the donation, one of the pupils, Natalia Bellerby, showed her initiative and created a brand‑new lunchtime competition to celebrate positive sporting attitudes across the school. Each lunchtime, pupils taking part in sports activities can be nominated for Player of the Match. To earn a nomination, pupils must demonstrate qualities such as sportsmanship, effort, teamwork and respect.

Every nomination earns the pupil a ticket, which is then entered into an end‑of‑week draw to win an NUFC‑themed prize. This has quickly become a highlight of the week, encouraging pupils to push themselves, support their peers and embody the spirit of fair play.

To promote the competition, Natalia designed eye‑catching posters and displayed them around school, helping spread the excitement and encouraging others to join in. Her leadership was rewarded with one of the Newcastle United away stripes. Natalia’s creativity and initiative have been fantastic to see, and the competition has already begun to make lunchtimes more positive, inclusive and enjoyable. Well done, Natalia!
