NBS in Kenton offers two types of medical provision for Newcastle students:
Full Time School Provision
Students accepted for this type of provision receive their full allocation of entitled teaching based at our Kenton site. If necessary, a modified timetable will be put in place for a short period to support a pupil’s transition into the school.
Referred pupils must be currently working with CYPS and a supporting letter from CYPS must be included with a referral.
Specifically Allocated Bespoke Teaching On Medical Grounds
Pupils accepted for this type of provision are referred by both the home school and a clinical professional currently working with the pupil who has recommended that full time education is not appropriate. Pupils will follow a bespoke 1:1 timetable as directed by clinical professional. The teaching may take place at home, in a community provision or one of the school’s provisions.
Referrals must be made by both the school and a clinical professional.
