Bathing Tortoises

At our weekly visit to Kirkley Hall this week students had the opportunity to bathe the tortoises! We had to fill buckets with warm water and carefully pick the tortoises up and place them in the water. We couldn’t believe how dirty the tortoises were, the water was filthy! The tortoises enjoyed having their bath and then we lifted them out and they were allowed to move freely around the walk of life before we returned them to their enclosure were they dried off under the heat lamps.
